G325 COLLECTIVE IDENTITY

We are attending a study day on Collective Identity at Rich Mix Education, Bethnall Green Road, on Wednesday 14 March 2012. It is led by Pete Fraser, senior assessor for OCR AL Media Studies.

This event will examine how particular groups of people are represented across a range of media, using young people as one case study. The morning presentation will feature clips from TV shows, discussion of media coverage of the summer riots and examples from British films. The event will also consider the significance of the ways in which young people represent themselves online. The industry-based afternoon session will feature a screening of a recent TV show with a Q & A session with key industry professionals.

Travel arrangements

We will meet at Burger King in Waterloo Station at 9.30am on Wednesday 14 March 2012. I will lead the trip and accompany you from Waterloo to Rich Mix Education on the tube. The study day ends at 3.30pm when you will make your own way home. I will be travelling back to Waterloo after the trip for those of you who wish to travel back together. You should bring a packed lunch which we will eat at Rich Mix Education.
