In class today we research short film using Simon Quy's article in Media Magazine (February 2005) which we update by following leads relating to Short Film Festivals (such as The London Short Film Festival, Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival at The Watershed Bristol), television short films (Film 4, BBC, digital shorts from Northern Media.)
- Piktochart or Prezi collating your genre research: WHAT ARE SHORT FILMS?
- Textual Analysis of one short film, such as Cold
- Textual Analysis of one short film, such as Fill Me In
- Textual Analysis of one short film, such as High Maintenance
- (Optional 4th) Textual Analysis such as The Crush
- Ridley Scott A Life in a Day. Key concepts: crowd sourcing, consumers as producers, Michael Wesch, Web 2.0, YouTube, convergence
- Short Film Festivals
- Short films on television
- Directors' Label series (Chris Cunningham, Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze etc.) and short film production companies (Cinema 16)
