DRAWING ON THEORISTS

In the trailer that you are constructing for WELCOME TO EDEN, you have devised a clip that depicts Tammy (Evie) as consumed by false needs (reference Theodore Adorno) which are created by the devious Ular (who is seducing her away from her boyfriend). 

As the brief is to make a trailer (fast paced editing), today you started to prepare an additional clip in which Tammy looks longingly at a whole series of fashion plates and ends up with them dropped on the floor around her. Tammy is seated. The last picture she could screw up and throw at the camera in frustration?

• Tammy in her posts draws attention to the fact that she went to the Birmingham Fashion Show and took pictures herself to form the props.
• You also drew upon fashion plates from the book about the fashion photographer Tim Walker. Mention that you did so, and why.
• Explain Theodore Adorno's propositions about false needs and 'the culture industries'. Show that you have read this article by David Gauntlett and give it as a source.
